Copyright Policy
Effective date: October 25, 2026
Dreamrift respects copyright and expects its users to. If something made or held on Dreamrift uses your work without permission, tell us and we will act on it. This policy is part of our Terms of Service.
1. How to send a copyright notice
Use Report content and choose “My copyrighted work”, or send your notice to our copyright agent (section 6). Under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, a notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature (your full name, typed, is enough).
- The copyrighted work you say is being infringed (a link or a description).
- The material you say infringes it, and enough to let us find it (a link is best).
- Your name, address, phone number and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act for them.
2. What we do with it
We act on a complete notice within 48 hours: we remove the material or turn off access to it, and we let the account holder know. We also forward the notice to the account holder, as Canada’s Copyright Act asks, and tell you when we have. We keep a record of the notice.
3. If your content was removed by mistake (counter-notice)
If you believe material you uploaded or made was removed by mistake or misidentification, send our copyright agent a counter-notice that includes:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- The material that was removed and where it appeared before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the US federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the US, any judicial district where Dreamrift may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the notice or their agent.
We forward a complete counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.
4. Repeat infringers
We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright, in appropriate circumstances.
5. False claims
Knowingly saying something is infringing when it is not, or that it was removed by mistake when it was not, can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees (17 U.S.C. §512(f)).
